Rivers coming off the Costa Rican volcanoes can be fast and during the rainy season have culminated in flash floods in certain river valleys. This is white water rafting at its finest for novices and experienced alike. Take a white water rafting tour led by experienced guides to sample what Costa Rica’s mighty waters have to offer. There are class II, III and class IV rapids with plenty of nice swimming holes. During the rainy season (May thru December) this is the most challenging whitewater in the area. Charge through continuous Class III and Class IV rapids in professionally guided rafts. During the dry season (January thru May) the sparkling green water carves channels past huge boulders. Paddle with a guide, or challenge the rapids one on one in an inflatable kayak (ducky).
